Fjord Shipping offers Ship Management to Ship owners. Fjord Shipping is ISM certified by DNVGL and holder of Document of Compliance (DoC) for multiple flag states.
Fjord Shipping’s Technical Management is both flexible and dynamic and have a wide range of experience from different sectors in the maritime industry. During the lifetime of the Company Fjord Shipping have gained experience with different flag states and is currently operating vessels flying the most relevant flags. On a daily basis we are dealing with a wide range of classification societies. To secure quality Fjord Shipping only cooperate with Class Societies which are member of IACS.
Our main focus is safety and reliability. And this is made possible and supported by a dynamic and continuously improved Safety Management System. As tool for an effective and reliable operation we use a fleet management software system for HSEQ, crewing, maintenance and purchase.
Ship Management includes, HSEQ, Technical, Crew, Purchase, Insurance, Accounting and Commercial.
HSEQ
HSEQ Management is a vital part of the Fjord Shipping AS organization. To continuously improve our operations, we have set the below objectives as Basis for our Management system:

Technical
Fjord Shipping`s Superintendents represent multiple nationalities and languages. All together they have experience from most of the relevant maritime sectors.
This mix of backgrounds and nationalities gives Fjord Shipping an advantage in today’s globalized Shipping industry.
Long experience combined with modern effective tools are key success factors and our technical services and day to day work range from budgeting, dockings, planning and performing ordinary maintenance and system follow up.
TM Master`s new modern modules from Tero Marine are implemented for both Maintenance and Purchasing, onboard our ships.
Purchase
As part of Total Ship Management, Fjord Shipping has developed a well-functioning Purchase department. Through this department we handle all procurements for the vessels as spare parts, consumables, new equipment etc. including storage and shipment to port of call. Our purchasers have long experience and developed a substantial network within logistics and with suppliers and agents.
Through frame agreements with many suppliers, we offer our clients very competitive prices, effective handling and short delivery times. We do not compromise on quality and always quality assure the equipment before delivery. To achieve this, we have developed our own branch in Klaipeda and storage facilities in Denmark and Rotterdam.
To be able to provide even better service to our clients, we are in the process of implementing TM Master`s new modern module from Tero Marine for Purchasing, onboard our ships.
Crewing
Fjord Shipping`s crewing department consists of highly experienced and motivated personnel who have as main objective to conform to the requirements of owners, national and international conventions and legislations as well as client’s requirements.
The crew is carefully selected through our network of international manning agencies. Seafarers are carefully screened, this to ensure that only those fully qualified and properly STCW certified will be employed. The manning agents are located in Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, Philippines and Myanmar. Fjord Shipping also recruit senior officers from Norway, Iceland and Faroe Islands.
The goal is to build up a steady selection of crew for each vessel, this to ensure on-board consistency and reliability in order to provide the best quality for both vessel and cargo.
Fjord Shipping offer various options, inclusive but not limited to:
- Planning and arranging crew changes
- Arranging all means of travelling, visa and accommodation
- Filing agent for Antigua & Barbuda endorsements and seamen books
- Assistance with ITF/CBA coverage
- Assistance with all insurance matters

Insurance
Fjord Shipping negotiate and offer their partners competitive insurance solutions for Hull & Machinery, loss of Hire, P & I, crew and war insurance. From purchasing to marine claims handling, Fjord Shipping will ensure the client have the right protection to meet their operational needs. This is made possible through long relationship with various insurance companies and brokers. Fjord Shipping like to take an active part in the negotiations.
Accounting
Technical accounting is included in the technical management. Fjord Shipping can also provide full accounting services through group company Fjord Services. Fjord Services is a certified public accountant company with 7 experienced accountants, and can offer services within payroll, accounting, tax and VAT. We also have expertise in the Norwegian tonnage tax regulations.
Commercial
Fjord Shipping holds commercial experience from various segments in the maritime sector. We have developed a substantial network and cooperate close with most shipbrokers and major operators. We have proven track record in negotiating and concluding both spot- and long term contracts.
